Accounting Policy Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain accounting policies and guidelines to ensure GAAP compliance, including updating the company's accounting policy manual.
• Prepare technical accounting journal entries, perform monthly account reconciliations, and support internal controls testing for financial reporting.
• Prepare accounting memoranda for new pronouncements and business transactions, and provide technical support on accounting and reporting issues.
• Assist in preparing detailed financial statement footnotes, management discussion and analysis (MD&A) sections, and contribute to the regulatory reporting process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or internal audit.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply accounting policies and transactions.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Proficient in financial reporting and understanding of financial statements and reporting standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical and data interpretation abilities.
• Effective project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
