Employee Spotlight — Bri Roark-Chieffalo
How do you ensure you find the best candidates for the roles you are hiring for?
The key is simple: listen. I listen to what is important to the client and the candidate. Then, I match them accordingly. This is the essence of being a good recruiter. Of course, the candidates need to be qualified, but listening ensures we find the best fit for both parties. Most professionals I work with aren’t actively looking for a new job but are open to opportunities that might make them happier. By listening to what would make them happier, I can present relevant opportunities instead of overwhelming them with unsuitable options.
Can you provide an example of how maintaining a long-term relationship with a candidate has benefited both the candidate and your organization?
Long-term relationships are crucial and highly beneficial for both the professional and Pinnacle. By maintaining these connections, we stay informed about candidates’ career aspirations and market conditions. This ongoing engagement ensures that when their ideal job opportunity arises, they are more likely to respond positively, knowing we have their best interests at heart. One of the greatest advantages is when a candidate becomes a client; having established trust, they are more inclined to turn to us. For filling openings on their team. This not only strengthens our partnership but also often leads to referrals, expanding our network through their recommendations.
What methods do you use to ensure clear and effective communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process?
I adapt to what works best for each candidate or client, whether it’s texting, calling, or emailing. I also establish a timeline and set expectations for communication to be the best resource possible. Being relatable and realistic considering how I would feel in their position, is essential. Pinnacle values building genuine relationships rather than being transactional. Therefore, being personable, empathetic, and understanding is crucial. Transparency and honesty about the details regarding the company, the opportunity, and my process are also vital. Following up is essential; I provide feedback, offer advice for improvement, and check in even when it’s not job related. Ultimately, I tailor my approach to each individual candidate or client, recognizing that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution.
